Archeometric studies supported through Erasmus Agreement with the University of Peloponnese
In a highly interdisciplinary endeavor, the Laboratory of Glass Science at OSIM (Jena) and the Laboratory of Archaeometry, Dept. of History, Archaeology and Cultural Resources Management in Kalamata, Greece, have initiated a cooperation with a focus on research and education in archaeometry. Within the Erasmus program of the EU, a collaboration contract has now been signed which will provide students of FSU (materials science, chemistry) the opportunity to spend parts of their studies at the University of Peloponnese (UP). In return students majoring in archaeology at UP will be welcome in Jena. The program falls in the broader context of bringing together materials scientists and archeologists with the specific goal to employ methods of materials science towards archeological problems....
